Investing in a Better Downtown: LEXPARK Updates Parking Rates

LEXPARK is revising its violation fee structure across the board to better address safety-related parking infractions such as blocking fire lanes, parking in medians, and obstructing accessible or emergency access points. We are also adjusting rates at the Victorian Square Garage for the first time since February 2018.

These changes, effective September 2025, are intended to promote compliance with critical public safety and access regulations.

Rate Adjustments

Pursuant to city ordinance, LEXPARK is mandated to administer and enforce regulations pertaining to designated safety-related parking violations. In alignment with updated enforcement standards, LEXPARK will implement a revised fine structure establishing a minimum penalty of $50 for all safety infractions, with the most severe violations subject to fines beginning at $100.

Violations and their rate adjustments
Regular Fine: $50 | Fine After 10 Days: $65

Regular Fine: $100 | Fine After 10 Days: $115

Violations that remain unchanged
Regular Fine: $250 | Fine After 10 Days: $265

Victorian Square Garage Rate Adjustments

Separately, LEXPARK is instituting their first increase in monthly parking rates at the Victorian Square Garage since February 2018. The increase is meant to combat inflation increases in the last seven years while continuing to align with local market comparables:

General monthly rate: from $90 to $105

Reserved/restricted area: from $110 to $130

Hospitality rate: from $20 to $25

Important Notes

LEXPARK operates as a self-sustaining agency and does not receive tax dollars

Revenue generated through citations and monthly parking fees is reinvested directly into the upkeep, enhancement, and modernization of Lexington’s parking infrastructure. Recent improvements include upgraded lighting, advanced security camera systems, improved signage, digital payment options, and structural enhancements – all aimed at creating a safer, more accessible experience in downtown Lexington.

“Even with these changes, we continue to offer the most competitive parking garage rates in the downtown area,” said Laura Boison, Executive Director of LEXPARK. “Our commitment is to value, reliability, and reinvestment in the structures our clients use every day.”
