Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our LEXPARK garages is a full-time job, but in the hands of Maintenance Employee TaeKawon, it’s always a job well done! With maintenance employees like TaeKawon, we’re able to provide parking garages that allow for a reliable place to park and a community-focused approach alongside easier access to local businesses.
Originally, TaeKawon was drawn to a job at LEXPARK because he works well on his own as well as with others. “I’m independent and reliable, so I don’t need much supervision, which makes it easy for the supervisors to handle other responsibilities.” Being able to work at a job where he sets the pace and is part of what he calls a “super friendly” staff, TaeKawon’s ability to be self-sufficient makes for a more positive, efficient work environment.

When he’s not working, TaeKawon likes to spend his time playing video games and listening to music, noting that it’s not difficult to balance his work and home life, as the work hours are flexible. If TaeKawon heads to Downtown Lexington, it’s to visit friends at local restaurants and bars for a night out. “I like to go out to the night clubs around town, so it’s always nice to have somewhere to park.”
Working at LEXPARK holds many positive experiences and rewards for TaeKawon, one of which is, “knowing that you are making someone else’s day just a bit better.” Keeping an area clean for the customers who frequent the LEXPARK garages is an important, and often overlooked, experience of the behind-the-scenes work that goes on. “When you clean a mess and the customer thanks you for the hard work, it makes the day better.”
Accessibility to parking and the availability and ease of navigating in Downtown Lexington remains one of the most important aspects of LEXPARK‘s work, and is a cornerstone of our most focused efforts. TaeKawon notes that, “It’s always nice to have a reliable place to park, and LEXPARK houses important companies like construction, or Rupp Arena, so we do a lot for the community.” From helping to provide quick and easy parking access to entertainment to actually building up the community, LEXPARK strives to improve Downtown Lexington for visitors and locals alike, and people like TaeKawon are helping to make that happen.
