Lexington Parking Authority Wins International Parking & Mobility Institute Award of Excellence for Helix Parking Structure Water Quality Improvement

2021 IPMI Awards of Excellence winners exemplify creativity, future-thinking, and a commitment to mobility and sustainability.

The Lexington Parking Authority (LPA) was recognized by the International Parking & Mobility Institute (IPMI) with 2021 IPMI Awards of Excellence for the Helix Parking Structure Water Quality Improvement project. IPMI Awards of Excellence showcase outstanding parking and transportation facilities and innovative programs to further the parking, transportation, and mobility industry. Entries are reviewed by a panel of expert judges from every segment of the parking, mobility, and transportation industry and ranked across a wide spectrum of criteria.“

This year’s Awards of Excellence winners showcase creativity, innovation, sustainability, and a commitment to the future of transportation and mobility,” said IPMI CEO Shawn D. Conrad, CAE. “Their attention to excellence benefits both their operations and their local communities, and it’s an honor to recognize and celebrate these projects and organizations.”

The Helix Parking Structure Water Quality Improvement was selected as an Awards of Excellence winner for Excellence in Sustainable Management, placing it among the industry’s top programs. This project installed an oil/water separator which now allows runoff from the garage to be used for washdowns.
